SPRINGFIELD 1898 CARBINE PLUS
The carbine has a rifle stock cut down by 8” which is in very good plus condition, having scratches, dings, and a few small chips but no major damage, and has been cleaned and finished. The rear sight is a Model 1901 carbine rear sight, which is correct for this carbine, but the sliding aperture is missing. The carbine’s muzzle has been correctly turned down to accept a knife bayonet. Parts of the bolt assembly have moderate oxidation staining, and the upper and lower barrel bands have minor dings and scratches on a light brown patina. The rifle retains about 60% arsenal blue with sections worn to gray and section of light brown patina.
